Chest milk and alcohol do not go together at all. Alcohol spreads through the blood vessels, and it also mixes your breast milk. According to some experts, the combination of alcohol in breast milk is not safe for your baby at any level. But some people think that if the nursing mothers want to drink alcohol, they can drink a small quantity of alcohol as well as after feeding the baby. This will allow some time for alcohol to be digested before the time of next breastfeeding.

What does the research say?

There is no research on relationship with breastfeeding, there is no relation between pregnancy and relationship with breastfeeding. There are lots of mutual inconsistencies between those who have it. Significant amounts of drinking alcohol are important in pregnancy, such as Fatal Alcohol Syndrome or many uncommon abnormalities created during childhood under the influence of alcohol. But mixed results were found in alcohol consumption among the nursing mothers. For this reason, no physician has a strict restriction on breastfeeding and alcohol consumption.

However, the study also says that drinking alcohol during breastfeeding is likely to harm children. In the first 3 to 4 hours after breastfeeding, the child consumes about 20 percent of the milk. It is not due to the reduced feeding time or any change in milk flavor. The reason is that after drinking alcohol, milk production decreases in mother’s body. The lesser amount of milk that the child plays is not understandable.

Research suggests that drinking alcohol reduces the use of milk, because it is possible to break the milk from the breast that the hormone prevents the excretion of oxytocin.

Some folklore say that drinking alcohol or milk production increases. But the scientific research has proven exactly the opposite. If alcohol produces milk in the body, and the presence of alcohol in breast milk, the child will eat less than 20 percent of milk less than normal.

How does alcohol presence in breast milk affect the baby?

Already it has been said that alcohol mixed with breast milk. The amount of alcohol you drink as much as your baby gets in the body, it remains in her body for a long time. In fact, at the age of three months, the rate of alcohol removal from a child’s body is less than half of an adult population.

Drinking habits during breastfeeding can affect the amount of baby feeding, sleeping and orthopedic intellectual development. Alcohol mixed with alcohol-rich breast milk can amate some amounts, and it can have harmful effects on child development.

Alcohol in the mother’s milk can harm the child in the following ways:

Sleep – There is significant change in the amount of sleep in the baby. It has been found in the study that after breastfeeding after breastfeeding, the child would noticeably sleep for a short time after milking her breast. They have been seen to be less sleepy than the dreamless sleeping period.

Development of anatomic energy – A study showed that the milking mothers of alcoholic mothers received fewer numbers in intellectual-anatomical tests. However, later this study did not result in another study of the same topic.

Need to know

  • Drinking does not increase milk production, but rather reduces.
  • After drinking alcohol it takes at least 2 hours to get out of the blood type of alcohol.
  • Recent studies have found that, if the mothers are very cautious and moderately consuming alcohol (1-2 glasses), then the child is not very harmed.
  • Indian Academy of Pediatrics Consultation; “The nursery of the nursing mother should eat a little more than the food of the home, and regularly with lots of green vegetables. There is no need to avoid any particular food, but extra caffeine, tobacco products and alcohol will not be allowed. “
  • Some people have pumped milk from breast milk to remove alcohol. But according to researchers, there is no profit by pumping because it does not have any effect at the speed of alcohol removal from milk.
  • It has been found in the study that breast feeding mothers regularly drink alcohol, their children’s weight gain is lower than normal.
